Registered Nurse (RN) – Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Position Summary

Join a highly respected regional healthcare organization as a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse, providing specialized care for patients requiring close monitoring following critical illness, cardiac procedures, and complex medical or surgical conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized nursing care for PCU and stepdown patients
  • Monitor patients with complex cardiac, medical, and surgical conditions
  • Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition
  • Manage advanced lines, drains, monitoring equipment, and IV therapies
  • Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary care teams
  • Coordinate patient care from admission through discharge
  • Precept and support nursing staff when needed
  • Maintain accurate documentation and promote patient safety

Qualifications

Required

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN required; BSN preferred)
  • Active Montana RN license (or eligibility)
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (or obtain within six months)
  • Recent ICU, PCU, or advanced Medical/Surgical nursing experience
  • Cardiac telemetry and EKG interpretation skills

Preferred

  • Pediatric nursing experience
  • TNCC and ENPC certifications
