Charge Nurse – Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)

Position Summary
An outstanding leadership opportunity is available for an experienced PACU Registered Nurse ready to step into a Charge Nurse role. This position provides clinical leadership for Pre-Operative and PACU services while ensuring exceptional patient care, efficient department operations, and strong team collaboration.
The successful candidate will lead daily clinical operations while mentoring staff and working closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and nursing leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily operations of the Pre-Op and PACU departments.
- Coordinate staffing assignments and patient flow.
- Oversee surgical scheduling adjustments and daily workflow.
- Ensure compliance with patient safety, quality, and documentation standards.
- Mentor and support PACU nursing staff.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and hospital leadership.
- Assist with performance improvement initiatives.
- Promote evidence-based perioperative nursing practice.
Qualifications
Required
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN required; BSN preferred)
- Active Montana RN license (or eligibility)
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- Minimum 2 years of PACU nursing experience
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Preferred
- Previous Charge Nurse or clinical leadership experience
- ICU or Critical Care background
- CPAN or ASPAN certification
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $115,000–$130,000 annually
